For Area Agencies on Aging and ADRCs
“What does assisted living cost around here, and who do we call?”
Information and referral staff answer the cost question dozens of times a week, usually with a caller already on the line. Every city page here opens with the local median, the range behind it and the licensed providers in that city, so the number and the list are one link. Nothing is gated and no caller is asked for a phone number to see a price.
What to hand a family
- Cost calculatorOne screen, the caller's city, a monthly figure you can read aloud and then email them.
- Affordability screenerStart from the budget the caller names and see which care types it reaches in their county.
- Caregiver pay estimatorThe question behind many calls: can a daughter be paid to provide care, and through which state program.
Links that remember where a family came from
Paste these into a resource page, a newsletter or an email. The tag on the end tells us a family arrived through your link, and nothing more: no cookie, no account, no information about the person. If you want to see how many of your families used the site, ask and we will send the count.

State fact sheets
A one-page state fact sheet with the medians, the rank and the Medicaid guide link, for the resource binder or the agency website. Every state has one, and each prints on a single page from the browser. Pick a state.
Put a cost table on your own page
The embed gallery generates one line of code for a city cost table, a city against state against national comparison, a licensed provider count or a care type cost card. The widget updates itself when the data updates and carries one attribution link back to the source page. No registration and no tracking script.
Frequently asked questions
Can we link to ElderCareCosts from a public agency website?
Yes. Every page is free to read with no sign-in, we do not sell the contact details of families you send, and no provider pays to rank above another. The how-we-make-money page explains the advertising, which is labeled as advertising.
Where do the cost figures come from?
Published survey medians adjusted with federal wage data for each metro area, with the source and period printed on every figure. The methodology page sets out the hours basis and where a local figure is modeled rather than surveyed.
