It comes in three forms: a paid caregiver at home for a few hours or a few days, an adult day program for weekdays, or a short stay in an assisted living community or nursing home. The price is the hourly, daily, or short-stay rate of whichever setting you use.

Oregon's programs
Oregon's Family Caregiver Support Program, delivered through the Aging and Disability Resource Connection and the Area Agencies on Aging, funds respite for family caregivers with no Medicaid requirement. For people who qualify for the Oregon Health Plan and need a nursing-home level of care, in-home services including respite are covered.
