Veterans Benefits for Long-Term Care

The VA publishes a national list of nursing facilities that serve veterans: its own Community Living Centers and the State Veterans Homes run by each state. We hold 357 of those listings across 51 states. This page shows where they are and points at the guides that cover who pays for what.

We do not decide eligibility and we do not publish benefit amounts. Those come from the VA, and the links below go to its own pages.

VA-listed nursing facilities by state

Each link opens that state's nursing home directory, where these facilities sit alongside every other licensed nursing home with the same inspection and staffing record attached. The number is how many VA-listed facilities that state holds.

Veteran-directed care lets a veteran hire a family caregiver with a budget the VA sets. It runs state by state and it is not offered everywhere. Our 51 state guides say what each state calls the program and where to ask about it.
