Caregiver Pay Estimator

Some states let a family member get paid through a consumer-directed Medicaid or HCBS program. We have researched official state programs for 25 states. Every figure links to the state's own page. Eligibility is always decided by the state, never by us.

Utah

Employment-related Personal Assistant Services (EPAS)

Official Utah Medicaid (DHHS) page states a Personal Assistant 'may NOT be a legal guardian (i.e., parent to a minor child or spouse)'; however, a parent MAY serve as the paid personal assistant if the EPAS participant is at least 18 years of age. Adult children are not addressed as a distinct category.

Also: Self-Directed personal assistance is also available under Utah's other HCBS waivers (New Choices, Physical Disabilities, Community Supports, Acquired Brain Injury, Aging Waiver)

Eligibility, dollar amounts, and application steps are set by the state and can change. Only Utah's own program can confirm eligibility. This is not an eligibility determination.

This page's URL now points at Utah, so you can copy and share it.
