Caregiver Pay Estimator

Some states let a family member get paid through a consumer-directed Medicaid or HCBS program. We have researched official state programs for 25 states. Every figure links to the state's own page. Eligibility is always decided by the state, never by us.

Mississippi

Participant-Directed Personal Care Service (Independent Living Waiver)

The official medicaid.ms.gov-hosted 1915(c) waiver application (Independent-Living-Waiver.pdf) describes two personal-care choices: Co-Participant (MDRS as employer of record) and Participant-Directed (participant as employer of record, with FMS support). Corroborating sources describe a spouse/legally-responsible-person exclusion, with other relatives such as a non-co-resident adult child eligible; this detail comes from the official waiver PDF via search corroboration since direct PDF text extraction failed (tool limitation).

Also: the Co-Participant personal care service, the traditional agency-employer alternative in the same waiver

Eligibility, dollar amounts, and application steps are set by the state and can change. Only Mississippi's own program can confirm eligibility. This is not an eligibility determination.
