Louisiana

Community Choices Waiver (CCW) — Self-Direction option

OAAS treats a spouse as a Legally Responsible Individual (LRI) under CCW Self-Direction; a spouse can be paid only under OAAS-approved Extraordinary Care circumstances via the LRI/Spouse-as-DSW Request Form. Adult children and other non-legally-responsible relatives can generally be hired.

Also: Monitored In-Home Caregiving (MIHC), a separate CCW service paying a live-in principal caregiver; Long-Term Personal Care Services (LT-PCS) - the standard agency-based personal care benefit, not self-directed
