Caregiver Pay Estimator
Some states let a family member get paid through a consumer-directed Medicaid or HCBS program. We have researched official state programs for 25 states. Every figure links to the state's own page. Eligibility is always decided by the state, never by us.
Kansas
Self-Direction (Attendant Care Services)
Per KDADS (Kansas Dept. for Aging and Disability Services), a family member may provide Attendant Care Services under self-direction, EXCEPT a spouse or a person appointed to legally represent the participant (e.g., activated Durable Power of Attorney, Guardian/Conservator). Kansas also generally excludes a co-resident relative from being the paid worker.
Also: Available within the Frail Elderly (FE) Waiver and several other KanCare HCBS waivers
Eligibility, dollar amounts, and application steps are set by the state and can change. Only Kansas's own program can confirm eligibility. This is not an eligibility determination.
